Assessment of g forces for rear-facing wheelchair securement systems in transit buses
The objective of this project is to conduct tests on low-floor transit buses equipped with rear-facing wheelchair securement system(s) under normal urban and suburban operating conditions to establish g force levels and specific data of interest to transit operators, regulators, bus manufacturers, persons using wheelchairs/scooters and general traveling public; to conduct crash tests to measure g forces.

The work involved researching, developing, and writing a guide to help planners improve the accessibility of transportation systems. Provides guidelines for all modes of transportation and types of disability, and deals with both systems and specific technologies.

The objective of this project is to assess the effects of vision enhancement systems on older drivers. The research team tested both conformal and non-conformal VES with both young and old drivers, in good visibility and in fog.
